About FSSS

From the President, Rusty Burton

Continuing the tradition of protecting Kansans

I began work in the security field in May 1992, just after finishing high school. During the past 24 years I have worked in contract security, hospital security, retail security, loss prevention and currently working in higher education security. I began my career working with Lawrence Security & Courier Service in May of 1992 and was promoted to Supervisor in 1994 where I remained for 8 years.

At Lawrence Security, I was responsible for the daily operation of the company, ranging from answering all incoming calls to scheduling over 50 officers and directing our night patrol service of 60 plus accounts.

In 2002 I moved to hospital security and worked for a hospital in the Kansas City Area for 2 years. Then in 2004 I moved to retail security (loss prevention) working for Wal-Mart for three years. With Wal-Mart I apprehended shoplifters, serviced and installed CCTV and conducted internal and external investigations.

In May of 2007 I moved to higher education working for a University in the area. I was promoted to supervisor in late 2008.
